The Defense Ministry together with the Republican Union of War Veterans organized the lecture “The Heroic Deed of the Defenders of Stalingrad” at the Central House of the Army. The event was meant to commemorate the battle which took place 65 years ago, DECA-press Agency communicates.
Around 500 Moldovan soldiers fought at the battle from Stalingrad.
This battle is a model of courage and as long as the young generation is interested in the past our nation has a future, one of the organisers of the event said.
There was organized a program for the military men from the garrison of Chisinau and for those who are preparing to become such. The program included an exhibition of photographs and documentary films of the time which revealed the heroic deeds of the soviet soldiers. // DECA-Press
