A deputy mayor of Balti, disguised in Santa Claus, inaugurated the winter holidays in the town
On the Christmas Eve, new style, a Balti deputy mayor disguised in Santa Claus to light the emblaze the lights on the Christmas Tree installed on Vasile Alecsandri Square from the locality and inaugurate the winter holidays, DECA-press Agency transmits.
On Monday evening, in time of cultural-artistic events organized on the occasion of the inauguration of the Christmas Tree, the vice-mayor Alexandru Usatai, wearing Santa Claus’ clothes, congratulated several hundreds of people who gathered near the Tree on the occasion of the New Year. During the inauguration of the tree, the vice-mayor kept in his hand a stick and wore a white-blue dress, typical of Santa Claus, a hero of Russian traditions. According to the vice-mayor, the inauguration on December 24th evening marked the beginning of winter holidays and didn’t celebrate especially the Christmas on new style. “On January 6th, a concert will be organized in the centre of the town with the participation of some singers from Chisinau”, the vice mayor said. On Monday evening, next to the Christmas Tree from Balti, several groups of carol singers kept lit candles in their hands while singing Christmas carols.
