Women sentenced for swinging baby

A Pennsylvania woman was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for seriously hurting her infant son by swinging him like a baseball bat.

Chytoria Graham, 28, was convicted of breaking the skull of her 4-week-old son, Jarron Troop, during a fight with the child's father in her Erie, Pa., apartment last year, the Erie Times-News reported Wednesday.

Graham, a mother of five, was convicted of aggravated assault and other charges. The assault conviction carried a five-year mandatory minimum sentence due to the child's age, the newspaper said.  // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
