Man falls ill trying to set milk record
A student in Russia was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after trying to set a new world milk-drinking record.
Five students from universities in and around St. Petersburg decided each of them would drink 10 liters of milk in one hour to promote the benefits of milk, RIA Novosti reported. One of the competitors fell ill after drinking about two liters of milk and was taken to the hospital to have his stomach pumped. "Though milk is undoubtedly a very healthy drink ... in such amounts it lies heavy on the stomach," the physician was quoted as saying. Organizers said they were not giving up on setting a new world record, but decided they would continue training. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 13 December 2007 Source: Archive
