O descendenta din Cernauti a fost decorata de presedintele american cu o inalta distinctie

Ruth R. Wisse, o specialista americana in literatura idis, originara din orasul Cernauti, a fost distinsa de catre presedintele SUA, George Bush, cu „Arts and Humanities Medals Honor Diversity”, comunica DECA-press cu referire la Agentia ISRO-Press.
Lucrarile laureatei, se spune in expunerea de motive care insoteste atribuirea distinctiei, „a imbogatit intelegerea noastra in ceea ce priveste literatura idis si cultura idis in lumea moderna”. Ruth R. Wisse, aminteste Robert Messenger, unul dintre prezentatorii laureatei, s-a nascut in Cernauti, care a facut parte din Romania, iar acum este parte a Ucrainei.
Printr-o decizie a Congresului SUA, distinctia „Arts and Humanities Medals Honor Diversity” se acorda diferitor personalitati incepand cu 1984. // DECA-Press
