Macy's Thanksgiving parade in New York City will have a new entrant this year, a historic circus wagon from Wisconsin's Circus World Museum.

The 1903 wagon, known as the Ringling Bros. United States Band Tableau, will be pulled by eight Percheron horses in the celebrated holiday event and will be adorned with a group of circus musicians, The Wisconsin State Journal said Friday.

The historic wagon was built by Cincinnati' s Bode Wagon Co. and was used for several circus parades by Ringling Bros. until 1918.

Its last official circus parade actually took place in New York in 1923, making its involvement in Thursday's parade even more memorable.

It has since been restored by craftsmen and become a prized part of the museum's collection of restored circus parade wagons.

The State Journal said the wagon's role in the famous event will be sponsored by New York City's Big Apple Circus, which will have the vehicle transported to New York Tuesday.  // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
