You need to be active with people today, even if you thought you had time to yourself. It's one of those days when it's just much more difficult for you to fly solo -- and you've got willing copilots!

Borders Web show features Nigella Lawson

Bordersmedia.com has debuted five new online video cooking segments featuring glamorous Food Network star Nigella Lawson in metro Detroit, shopping and cooking with Farmington Hills restaurateur Adrian Tonon.

In the "Borders Kitchen" show, at www.bordersmedia.com, Nigella cooks for Tonon from her new book, "Nigella Express" (Hyperion, $35), after they shop together at Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace in Troy.

The cooking portions of the show were filmed in Auburn Hills at Trevarrow Inc., a high-end appliance retailer.

In the introductory episode, Nigella explains that she hadn't planned to write the book but realized it might help other working mothers like her, who love food but often have little time to cook weeknight dinners.

"I don't want to sacrifice quality just because I'm a bit pushed for time," she tells Tonon, co-owner of Café Cortina.

Tonon says he was chosen to host the show after Borders saw a pilot he did for the Fine Living Network. That series failed to launch because its sponsor withdrew for financial reasons.

Nigella is the second top author to appear on "Borders Kitchen," after Lydia Biastianich earlier this year. At least four more nationally known cookbook authors will be featured in 2008, says Rich Fahle, Bordersmedia.com's vice president for content.

What is certain is that "Borders Kitchen" "is important to the Borders audience, and we're moving really aggressively into programming to support that."
