Partying teens refuse police order
Police say a large party on a rural Wisconsin farm turned into a standoff between deputies and up to 70 mostly teenage party-goers.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department said they were called out last month to investigate an alleged underage drinking party near Waunakee, Wis., the Wisconsin State Journal said Wednesday. When deputies showed up, the group crowded into a shed on the farm and refused repeated orders by police and later pleas by parents to leave. The stand-off lasted nearly five hours, The Capital Times said. Teens at the party later said they were intimidated by three young men who allegedly threatened guests to keep them inside. Alleged party host Jacklyn Kaltenberg, an elementary school aide, is accused of refusing to let the youths leave. Kaltenberg was charged this week with obstructing police and ticketed for selling alcohol to an underage person. Her husband, Daniel Kaltenberg, 44, also was charged with obstructing police. Three teenage boys were charged with allegedly handling a rifle and brandishing a sledgehammer to prevent guests from leaving. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 15 November 2007 Source: Archive
