Japanese man held in China
Chinese authorities reportedly were holding the Japanese head of an organ transplant center on suspicion of being illegally engaged in business.
The Yomiuri Shimbun reported Hiroyuki Nagase with the China International Organ Transplant Center in Liaoning Province was arrested after the Chinese public security ministry alleged Nagase’s brokerage actions had gone beyond business activities for which he had registered the company. Ministry officials were quoted as saying Nagase’s company was an information firm but that in 2004 he allegedly brokered organs for Japanese patients, using China International Organ Transplant Center to provide information through the Internet. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 17 October 2007 Source: Archive
