Residents of Albion, N.Y., have expressed disappointment in their mayor ever since several photos apparently of him in the nude appeared on the Internet.

Albion Mayor Mike Hadick has gone into damage control, maintaining the photos were doctored to make him appear nude.

But since the embarrassing photos of the 38-year-old mayor were posted online by an unknown source, his public support has suffered a significant blow, The Buffalo (N.Y.) News said Sunday.

"His reputation to me is shot,” 28-year-old Albion resident Rome Sanchez said Thursday. “It’s kind of embarrassing now to have him as mayor.”

While some of Hadick's constituents have judged the local leader for his alleged indiscretion, others have attempted focus on the mayor's other qualities.

“Let it go until he is up for election,” a 73-year-old Albion resident identified only as John told the newspaper. “Let’s see what he does in office.” // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
