KIEV: Ukraine launches vodka for women
A special brand of vodka being marketed for women has appeared on Ukraine's hard drinks market.
The new La Femme vodka is based on unusual recipes using alcoholic fruit juice. Production of La Femme has been launched in the village of Stepanki where a local distillery discovered high quality well water, a Kiev newspaper reported. A plant was built nearby to use the water in vodka production, costing 20 million euros. The top quality spirit is used in production and the mixture is filtered seven times for greater purification. The drinks creators tried to heed the taste of the fairer sex, who are said to generally prefer their vodka with juice, adding peach, cherry, grapefruit and apple juices to eastern Europe's most recognized export. Its producers, however, insist that the new concoction is indeed a vodka and not a cocktail. La Femme is also marketing a vodka with rose extract. // RIA "Novosti" Publication date: 02 November 2005 Source: Archive
