A person was killed and 10 were injured, including 6 minors, in 8 traffic accidents registered on Saturday and Sunday in Chisinau Municipality.

According to Chisinau Road Safety Service Inspector Ion Roscovanu, the lethal accident occurred on early Sunday morning, at 2:00, in the suburban town of Vatra. A young woman, 24, appeared suddenly on the road in front of a Volkswagen-Transporter van, driven by a man, 22, from Calarasi, and died on the scene.

On Saturday, at 14:30, an Audi-80 vehicle struck on Creanga Street a 9-year-old second-grader of the school no.48. The child was admitted to Valentin Ignatenco Hospital with mental shock.

A 32-year-old woman was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Emergency Hospital, after she was struck by a Volkswagen-Passat car, at 21:30, on Sarmizegetusa Street.

On weekend, traffic police officers fined 814 drivers, including 185 for speeding, and 39 for drunk-driving. // Info-Prim Neo
