Pilot project to supply three hospitals in Moldova with medical equipment
A pilot project to endow three raion hospitals in Moldova with medical equipment will be carried out. Minister of Health and Social Protection Ion Ababii told Thursday a Government sitting that the suppliers of modern medical equipment have been already selected through an international tender.
The equipment will be supplied once the reconstruction works performed at the three hospitals are completed. The raion hospitals in Glodeni, Calarasi and Ciadar-Lunga have been nominated in this regard. The necessary financial sources for reequipping the model-hospitals were envisaged in the state Budget Law for 2007, said the minister, but without specifying the money estimated. The reconstruction and reparation of the hospitals were started in 2006. As Premier Vasile Tarlev states, the three hospitals will be equipped according to European standards, while the implementation of the given project will enable to assess the necessary expenses for carrying out of the Programme for development of the technical-material basis of the public medico-sanitary institutions in Moldova. Earlier, Minister Ion Ababii told Info-Prim Neo that all the medical institutions in Moldova need about EUR 2 bln for the renovation of their medical equipment. At present, the equipment existing in the medical institutions in the country is very old, given that it was purchased 30-45 years ago. // Info-Prim Neo Publication date: 05 January 2007 Source: Archive
