Storms leave 60 Polish villages without power on New Year's EveWarsaw -- Powerful storms brought trees down onto electricity-supply lines in Poland Sunday, leaving the residents of 60 villages in the north-eastern Mazurian Lakes region in the dark on New Year's Eve, PAP news agency reported. Employees from the power company said they would start working on restoring electricity supplies Sunday evening, but it was likely that many villages would have to see in the new year without electricity. Moldova had 4,131 HIV-infected people at year-start
A number of 4,131 HIV-infected persons were registered in Moldova at the beginning of 2008. The HIV-related cases are officially recorded in Moldova since 1997. Some 500 HIV-infected people died meanwhile. The League of HIV-Infected People of Moldova will organize a press conference on the World AIDS Day marked this year on May 18.
