Aid donated by Chisinau residents distributed to flood victims

Six buses carrying humanitarian aid collected by the Chisinau City Hall and district heads’ offices went to the south of Moldova on August 20. The aid was distributed to villages in Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi, Rezina and Ungheni districts.

Besides clothes and other goods, the families that lost their houses as a result of floods in Purcari, Rascaieti and Talmaz villages of Stefan Voda district also received by 5,000 lei from the reserve fund of Chisinau.

While the aid was being distributed in Purcari, the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca visited the damaged houses and invited the people to the mayor’s office of the village to collect the aid designed for them.

Asked by REPORTER.MD’s correspondent, the mayor of Purcari Anatolie Nicu said that the villagers affected by floods have also received over 200,000 lei in aid from the Electric Transport Division of Chisinau, 50,000 lei from the Communist Party in Balti town and 1,000 lei from a Causeni firm.

The Chisinau City Hall now continues collecting building materials and money for flood victims. The persons that want can make donations at the City Hall or at the district heads’ offices.//REPORTER.MD
