A friend or coworker is pushing you over the edge today -- even though you know perfectly well that they don't mean anything serious. Just take a deep breath and let them make a fool of themselves.

Tuition at State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics increased

The tuition fees at the Stomatology and Pharmacology faculties of the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "N. Testemitsanu" will be higher for the 2008-2009 academic year. Such a decision was made by the Government on August 6.

Under the decision, the tuition at the Pharmacology Faculty will be 11,700 lei (about 780 euros), as against 10, 500 lei earlier. The students at the Stomatology Faculty will pay 14,900 lei or by 3,300 lei more.

Minister of Health Larisa Catrinici said that the tuition fees have been adjusted to the institution’s spending. She also said that the new changes do not apply to the medical colleges as they raised the fees the previous years.

A number of 4,000 students have been admitted to the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "N. Testemitsanu" this year. Stomatology was the most popular faculty. The admission mark to this faculty was 10.

From 2006, all the medical faculties, except Stomatology and Pharmacology, enroll candidates on budget-paid places only.//REPORTER.MD
