German Embassy organizes eighth edition of “Splendors of Universal Music” concert
The open air concert “Spendors of Universal Music” will take place at the Summer Theater in Valea Morilor Park in Chisinau on July 27.
The concert became traditional for Moldova. It is organized the eighth consecutive year with the support of the German Embassy and the National Philharmonic. This year’s concert will include works by Strauss, Mozart, Wagner, Haciaturian, Bizet, Verdi and by the national composer Oleg Negruta. Concert administrator Svetlana Bivol told a news conference in Tuesday that Tatiana Costiuc (soprano), Dumitru Pocitari (violin) and Ina Spanu (xylophone) will perform alongside the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici”, which is composed of over 70 musicians. Conductor Patrick Strub and soloist Marcel Rosca (bas) from Germany will be special invitees. The entrance to the concert is free of charge. If it rains, the concert will be held at the National Philharmonic. Bivol also said that a surprise festival is prepared for the Moldovan music lovers. A classical music festival titled “Beethovenissimo” will be organized for the first time in Chisinau at the beginning of autumn. The first concert organized by the Moldovan Embassy in Moldova was held in 2000 at the proposal of the Embassy’s first secretary Regina Lochter.//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 22 July 2008 Source: Archive
