Millionaire clears air on divorceA prominent British multimillionaire said he posted the details of his divorce online to quell rumors that his ex-wife got shafted in the settlement. Gary Dean said rumors flew in his hometown, Fylde, after he and his wife of 20 years divorced, The Times of London reported Friday.
In response to rumors he cold-heartedly left his wife with very little, he created the Web site, The Truth About Helen Louise Dean v Gary Dean, to let the public know his ex got $7.4 million and he agreed to finance her Mercedes and Audi convertible. The Web site says the former Mrs. Dean was allowed to keep all of her jewelry and the businessman agreed to pay about $30,000 a year for each of the couple's four children until they reach age 17. Dean was quick to point out that none of his animosity was pointed toward his ex-wife, The Times said.
