Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin on May 20 put his signature in the book of condolences for the Chinese people opened at the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau.

According to the presidential press service, Vladimir Voronin signed on his behalf and on the behalf of the Moldovan people and offered his condolences to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Moldova Jianwei Gong and expressed his sympathy for the Chinese people affected by the earthquake.

Vladimir Voronin reiterated that the Moldovan authorities are ready to provide humanitarian assistance to the Chinese people to help them overcome the consequences of the quake. The head of state kept a minute of silence in memory of the people that died in Sichuan province.

The book was opened at the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau on May 19. All the Moldovans that want to give their condolences to the Chinese people can put their signatures in the book during three days, between 14:00 and 16:00.

Recently, the Government of Moldova decided to provide humanitarian aid to Sichuan province, where a powerful earthquake claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people and left homeless many more // Reporter.MD
