Europe Day celebrated in Balti and Cahul for the first time
On the occasion of Europe Day two painting and essay contests entitled “Message for Europe” were organized in Balti and Cahul. The winners of these competitions will be awarded during the Europe Day in Moldova celebration events, organized in these cities on May 19 and May 23 respectively.
For the first time, Europe Day will be marked in Balti and Cahul, on May 19 and 23 respectively, where the local public authorities, various cultural and academic personalities are invited to participate, as well as the mass-media. Not in the least, the youngsters and teachers from these cities and the public at large will also participate. The Europe Day in Balti and Cahul will start with the Awards Gala ceremony, where the winners of the painting and essay contests will be awarded the Europa Trophy and other prizes, followed by a concert performed by Serj Kuzenkoff, Dana Marchitan, and local dance ensembles and singers. The Europe Day celebration events in Chisinau began on May 8 with the inauguration of the EU logo shaped from flowers in the public garden “Stephan the Great” at the entrance of "Classic Writers’ Alley”, in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall. The celebration continued at the Mihai Eminescu Theater with the vestimentary design contest „Colors of Europe” and the Europe Awards Gala accompanied by a series of songs interpreted by artists such as Serj Kuzenkoff, Dana Marchitan and others. Launched at the beginning of this year, the “Message for Europe” competitions dedicated to the second official celebration of the Europe Day in the Republic of Moldova involved youngsters from other 150 educational institutions from Chisinau, Balti and Cahul at all academic levels.
