Over 50 documentaries will be shown during Chronograph film festival in Chisinau
The seventh edition of the International Film Festival “Chronograph” will take place in Chisinau between May 15 and 19. Over 50 films made by producers from 23 countries will be screened during the festival. The films will be shown at two international sections and outside the contest, at special screening events.
According to the organizers of the festival, films made by national producers will be shown at two national sections: Musical Clip and Local TV Production. The works will be assessed by a jury according to such criteria as: direction, image, montage etc. The film ”ColdWaves – War by Waves” made by the Romanian producer Alexandru Solomon will be screened in Moldova for the first time at the opening of the festival. The film is about the Romanian language section of Free Europe radio station. The workshop titled “Development and Financing of Film Projects” that will be held as part of the festival will bring together 12 young film makers from Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia. They will learn how to develop a film project and how to obtain funds for making movies. On May 17 and 18, the organizers of the festival and the National Museum of History will hold a special program outside the contest called “Movies at the Museum”. The program includes six documentaries on historic or cognitive subjects screened as part of the Night of Museums. On the last day of the festival on May 19, the public is expected to the Austrian Film Day, a special program of Austrian movies organized outside the contest. The 2007 Chronograph trophy was won by the Polish producer Maciej Adamac for the film “On the Road”. Man sues over misspelled tattoo
A Chicago tattoo parlor is being sued by a man who says a worker spelled the word tomorrow incorrectly in a tattoo on his forearm. Alfonse Wingfield, filed a suit Friday in Cook County Circuit Court alleging artist Mike Edrington of Jade Dragon Tattoo and Body Piercing gave him a tattoo reading Tommorow Never Promised Today. John P. R.I.P., the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.
