Italy to open its Embassy in Chisinau on 1 October 2008
Italian Ambassador to Moldova, headquartered in Bucharest, Daniele Mancini, stated during a meeting with Premier Zinaida Greceanii, that she hopes that the relations with the new Government in Rome to be invested next week, will be as good, which is also confirmed by the potential opening of Italian Embassy in Chisinau on 1 October 2008.
The premier thanked her for the support the Italian Government provided to Moldova and expressed her confidence that the Italian diplomatic representation in Chisinau will contribute to amplifying the bilateral Moldovan-Italian relations, both political and economic-commercial, as lately Italy is on the fourth place among Moldova’s commercial partners. Ambassador Daniele Mancini confirmed the interest of the Italian business environment in Moldova, motivated by the advantageous price of the labor force if compared with the new EU Member States, the growth of the internal market and the investment policy promoted by the Moldovan Government. The diplomat informed that the problems of security and migration are among the priorities of the new Italian Government and she pleaded for a closer cooperation between the Labor and Internal Affairs Ministries of the two countries.
