The blockage of the banc account of the newspaper „JURNAL de Chisinau” arouses arguments in Parliament

The case of the newspaper „JURNAL de Chisinau” aroused arguments in Parliament on Thursday. The opposition was outraged by the way the publication was sanctioned. They accused the power of intimidating the journalists’ freedom of speech and namely the journalists who criticize the government, DECA-press Agency transmits.

The independent MP Ion Neagu started the arguments. He asked that the minister of Justice Vitalie Parlog be heard.

His proposal was rejected because of the votes of the communists.

The proposal of the MP from the Alliance „Moldova Noastra”, Leonid Bujor, was more successful. He asked the Parliament to examine the situation of freedom of the press and speech in Moldova at the next parliamentary meeting. The discussion should start with the case of the newspaper „JURNAL de Chisinau”.

The speaker of the Parliament, Marian Lupu, said that the Bureau will consider this proposal.

The leader of the National-Liberal Party, Vitalia Pavlicenco, said that the case of the „JURNAL de Chisinau” would have resulted in the dismissal of those responsible of this act in a civilized state.

The MP from the Alliance „Moldova Noastra”, Gheorghe Susarenco, was last to speak on this topic. He reminded that the Action Plan the republic of Moldova – the European Union implies the guarantee of freedom of the press and of speech. // DECA-Press
