A carrier from Balti collect souvenirs from glass recipients thrown at the garbage place
A man from Balti makes flowers, vases and other souvenirs, using as raw material the recipients of glass thrown by the citizens of the town o the garbage, DECA-press Agency communicates.
Some confections of Veaceslav Cucunescu resemble ice sculptures. The best sold objects are the roses made of glass. All the elements of the souvenir are cut by hand from the glasses gathered at the garbage places. “I make all the souvenirs on fire and then I put them in the oven like women cook bread”, Veaceslav Cucunescu says. The handicraftsman says that the most difficult thing is to make a rose, and the easiest on is to make vases. He just must cut the base of bottles and stick it with cement to the top of the recipient. „The most suitable bottles for vases are the one-litre bottles for vodka », Veaceslav says. To make a easier souvenir, he needs at least three hours, while the price for the products vary from 60 to 120 lei. Veaceslav Cucunescu took up the skill of working with the glass when he worked at an enterprise of production of electric lamps from Balti. After the enterprise got bankrupt, Veaceslav found some tools, changing his garage into glassware. Since this occupation doesn’t bring him much income, the man works as a carrier at a storage house from the locality. // DECA-Press Publication date: 23 April 2008 Source: Archive
