„Valeriu Pasat”\\\'s case proposed for re-judgement
The case of the ex-minister of defence, Valeriu Pasat, accused of having caused much damage to the state, was returned to the Court of Appeal from Chisinau (CAC) for reexamination, DECA-press informs.
A decision in this context was made on Wednesday by the Supreme Court (SC). This one took the case for examination and the demands issued by the lawyers and the general prosecution at the sentence CAC in Pasat\'s case. Prosecutors insisted that Pasat is guilty and that the sentence of acquitting him must be cancelled, and the lawyers – insisted on acquitting the ex-minister fully and withdraw the condemnation officially. In such conditions, SC decided to return the case to CAC for re-judgement. According to the procedure, the hearings will start from the very beginning, with the hearing of parts, witnesses and the offender. // DECA-Press Publication date: 03 April 2008 Source: Archive
