Almost 300 persons refused the citizenship of Moldova
On Tuesday, the presidential decrees according to which the refuse of 289 persons to have the citizenship of Moldova is legalized came into effect. These decreees were published in the „Official Monitor”, DECA-press communicates.
At the same time, the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova was offered to three persons only. They come from Azerbaidjan, Georgia and Turkmenistan, who have their permanent residence in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, president Vladimir Voronin permitted nine former citizens of the Republic of Moldova to regain their citizenship. The legislation in effect of the Republic of Moldova admits double citizenship. The changes in effect were initiated a few years ago by the Moldovan president. At the same time, a law project adopted before by the Parliament, prohibits persons with double citizenship to working in public functions.
