Several persons participating at the actions of celebration of the Union’s Day were arrested by the police in Chisinau
In Chisinau, three manifestants, including a minor with Romanian citizenship were arrested on Thursday morning by the police while distributing on the Alley of Classic Writers promotional materials about the meeting organized by the Liberal Party on the occasion of the 90th anniversary since the Union of Basarabia with Romania.
One of the arrested persons, Ghenadie Brega, said for DECA-press that the police officers introduced themselves as representatives of the Bureau of Migration and asked the three participants at the manifestation to go to the Police Station of Buiucani. They motivated that they wanted to check the documents of the Romanian minor, Vlad Rjsu, who had been confiscated the copies of a magazine with pro-Romanian content at the Customs of Sculeni. „The third manifestant arrested by the police is Vasile Costiuc. More than four hours, we were kept in the Temporary Detention Room of the Police Station of Buiucani, without being explained why we had been arrested and what crime we had committed”, Ghenadie Brega also declared. Required by DECA-press Agency, the policeman on duty from the Police Station of Buiucani sector didn’t confirm, and didn’t deny the arrest of three persons and the fact they had been kept for four hours in the Temporary Detention Room of this institution. At the moment the news was diffused, the three persons under consideration, arrested by the police, were judged by the law court of the Buiucani sector from Chisinau. Another manifestant, Oleg Brega, told about another incident connected with the actions of celebration of the Union of Basarabia with Romania. While a group of activists danced Hora Unirii in the centre of Chisinau, persons dressed in habitual clothes, who, according to the manifestants, were policemen, took a flag, technical equipment from the participants at the meeting. // DECA-Press Publication date: 28 March 2008 Source: Archive
