Valeriu Pasat proposes the creation of a special parliamentary commission for the examination of his case
The ex-minister of Defence and the former director of the Information and Security Service (ISS) of the Republic of Moldova, Valeriu Pasat, proposed the Parliament of Moldova the creation of a special commission “which would examine all the circumstances of “Pasat’s case”, which is delayed for already three years, and which would close it”.
As DECA-press Agency transmits, he diffused a statement in which he affirms that in the list of “criminal” accusations which are imposed to him, pays attention to the fact that there was also an accusation of a pretended “coup d’etat”. „I point out the fact that I would have never addressed to deputies, some people elected by the nation, if such accusations concerned exclusively me. Yet, what I was meant to have – as a person responsible in the past of the state security – to hear from other persons with high posts from here, proves both, he irresponsibility of these persons and it is proof of some actions which damage the reputation and the image of the Republic of Moldova at an international level”, the cited source says. Valeriu Pasat reminds that «it is not only him who is suspected of contribution to the imagined coup d’etat, it is a whole series of politicians and important people working in the cultural field”. He also affirms that “there are some attempts to present in a non-favorable way the following states: Russian Federation, Romania, Republic of Belarus”. „I express my hope that the activity of the investigation commission, which deputies would create would consolidate the authority of the Parliament as a supreme body of he representative power, as well as would contribute to the consolidation of he state Republic of Moldova and to the improvement of the image in the world of our country”, Valeriu Pasat’s statement also says, cited by DECA-press. // DECA-Press Publication date: 28 March 2008 Source: Archive
