Eugen Cioclea, also called „the saddest poet of Europe” eats regularly per two potatoes a day. Only on holidays, receptions where he is invited to or the days when he is visited by his friends are an exception. Almost each day, the poet drinks only coffee and smokes.

Required by DECA-press Agency, Eugen Cioclea declared he doesn\\\'t have anu income and he doesn\\\'t know what he lives of. „I am young, handsome and strong and I started to write a novle which eats me. I have become food myself, and the consumer is very hungry”, Cioclea said.

Asked what money she buys his potatoes on, Eugen Cioclea said that, sometimes, he is supported by the Union of Writers from Moldova, and other times – by people for whom he writes. Despite the fact he lives in miserable conditions, Eugen Cioclea considers that a writer must sacrify himself through writing, and not be dominated by daily needs.
Eugen Cioclea is recognized – both in the Republic of Moldova and Romania – as one of the best contemporary Basarabian poets. One of his last books „Dati totul la o parte ca sa vad”, published at the Printing House „Cartier”, was sold at a price of 111 dollars. // DECA-Press
