A student risks being sent to prison for dodgery with plasticine
Four mobile phone sellers from Balti town have become the victims of a slicker student. In front of their own eyes, the young man replaced the mobile phones from the shelves of the shops and kiosks with carcasses and samples of telephones filled in with... plasticine. For the committed creative infactions, the student has got four penal cases from the part of the police, DECA-press transmits.
The 19-year-old young man is originating from the village of Hlinaia, Edinet district. He is a third-year-student at the faculty of Alecu Russo State University from Balti. According to captain Dumitru Cucos, inspector at the criminal Police from Balti, the first time, the offender replaced a telephone with a sample, and in the other three cases, he worked with the help of carcasses of phones filled with plasticine. When the shop-assistant didn't look at the telephone, the student would quickly replace the telephone with the carcasses which had the same weight like a real telephone due to the plasticine. Each of the four stolen telephones was estimated at over two hundred dollars, and the total amount of the material damage caused by the student reached over ten thousand lei. Arrested by the policemen, the student declared he would sell the telephone at a half-price, and the money obtained as a result of the „business” was spent for electronic casinos from the locality. For dodgery, the young man risks paying a fine of up to 20 thousand lei or at least three years of detention. // DECA-Press Publication date: 14 March 2008 Source: Archive
