Parliament to return to language issue – speaker Lupu
The question of studying the country’s official language by the national minorities living in Moldova shall be tackled by an ad hoc parliamentary commission to be set up in the course of the ongoing parliamentary Spring-Summer Session, Speaker Marian Lupu stated while meeting with the Comrat University Students’ League here on Monday night.
In his words, the commission will consider elaboration of new methods of teaching the language, and will be controlling the implementation of the new study program. The Presidential Press Service wrote in its press release today the students from Gagauzia “showed a particular interest to studying the state language in the framework of special programs for national minorities to thus get fully included into the social life of Moldova”. Speaker Marian Lupu welcomed the fact that the Comrat University students take an active part in social developments and promote the youth’s opinions into the programs of local and nation-wide governance. Lupu called upon the youth in Gagauzia to take an active part in the Parliament of the Youth project initiated recently by the Moldovan legislature. He said the project is a real tribune for the youth to present their ideas and opinions. // BASA-Press Publication date: 12 March 2008 Source: Archive
