The authorities from Tiraspol order the change of driving licences according to international standards
In the Transnistrian region, the current driving licences will be replaced until 2010 with new ones, which will follow international standards, DECA-press informs.
The replacement of the driving licences will be gradually performed. The press from the left bank of the Nistru river metions that the replacement of these documents is provided in the road security insurance program, elaborated by the Transnistrian authorities for a term of five years. According to this program, the penalties will become stricter for different violations of the road traffic rules. According to Dumitru Margarint, chief of the road police from Transnistria, among them, drivers who will conduct the car while being drunk will be arrested for a term of 15 days. According to Margarint, the traffic rules will be also changed – new road indicators and names will appear, and the students of auto schools will have to learn a course of ethics and psychology in conducting cars. Fifty-nine couples chose to get married in Chisinau on 08.08.08
Given the symbolic connotation of the date 08.08.08, 59 couples decided to tie the knot at a common ceremony held in the square of the National Opera House in Chisinau. The ceremony was led by the showman Andrei Porubin, whose daughter Sanda Porubin was among the brides. The marriage certificates were handed over by Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi, who also offered them presents.
