Moldova has become the eighth country to ratify the CE Convention on preventing terrorism
Moldova is the eighth country to have ratified Council of Europe (CE) Convention on preventing terrorism, after the Parliament had adopted on Friday in two readings a law project in this context, DECA-press transmits.
The convention was adopted on May 16th 2005 in Warsaw, in time of the 925th session of the Committee of Ministers of CE. Their aim is to join the efforts of member states in combating terrorism and to remove the existent gaps in the framework of the international juridical frame in term of preventing terrorism. The convention obliges member states to take legislative measures for preventing acts of terrorism, conscription of persons for committing terrorism acts, training some persons for committing terrorist acts, etc. The member states of the Convention will have to provide measures for protecting and supporting victims of terrorism. // DECA-Press Publication date: 10 March 2008 Source: Archive
