A series of actions have been held in Chisinau on the occasion of th 16th anniversary since the Transnistrian conflict has started

On Sunday, a series of actions have been organized in Chisinau on the occasion of the 16th anniversary since the beginning of the Transnistrian conflict. They carried a commemorative character.

From the very morning, the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev, the deputy-prime-minister Victor Stepaniuc, minister of home affairs, Gheorghe Papuc, minister of defence, Vitalie Vrabiem and other officials have brought flowers to Stefan the Great's Monument, DECA-press transmits.

After their departure, the representatives of the National Transnistrian War Union have brought flowers to the same monument. They didn't come together with the action organzed by the officials, because they didn't agree with the policy promoted by the authorities of the country as far as the Transnistrian problem and the fighters' problems are concerned.

The members of the National Transnistrian War Union were joined by Mircea Snegur, first president of the Republic of Moldova, the mayor of the capital Dorin Chirtoaca, president of the Municipal Council of Chisinau, Mihai Ghimpu.

After that, at a table of commemoration of the victims of the war, the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev addressed the fighters with a short message in which he promised that the Government would support them in solving their most serious problems. // DECA-Press
