Washington, DC winter storm, again

Much of the Washington-Baltimore area is bracing for four to eight inches of snow as a winter storm moves up from the southeastern states.

The National Weather Service has upgraded its advisory to a winter storm warning Saturday for Montgomery, Howard and southern Baltimore counties. The warning already covers the District of Columbia, Arlington and Alexandria, as well as Anne Arundel, Fairfax and Prince George's counties.

The warning will extend to 4 a.m. Sunday. It covers southern Maryland and points south in Virginia. Southern parts of Delaware also could receive five to eight inches of snow.

D.C. Department of Transportation Director Gabe Klein is urging people to postpone errands until Sunday. Virginia transportation officials also are urging drivers to stay off the roads.
