U.S. nuclear laboratory Los Alamos was closed because of wildfires

The U.S. state of New Mexico is one of them. But the special thing is that here the fire threatens National Laboratory in Los Alamos County, which conducted its nuclear program. The area of wildfires that began Sunday in the south-west of the county administrative center, it has already swept an area of about 1.4 already thousands of acres in the county where the laboratory is located. 

As the fire began to come near to the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the residents of two nearby communities of Los Alamos and White Rock were evacuated.

The fire has already led to the temporary closure of the famous Los Alamos National Laboratory, famous for that it was the place where the first atomic bomb was produced.

The authorities claim that all the radioactive and hazardous materials are protected and the fire has not yet approached the objects lab.

But the risk of fire spread increase many dry grass and fallen trees from thousands of forest acres which surrounds the plant buildings.

Recall that in 1943, in Los Alamos was founded Los Alamos National Laboratory. Currently, in addition to nuclear developments in the laboratory, studies are held in the field of renewable energy, aerospace, medicine, nanotechnology and creating the supercomputer.
