Unknown disease outbreak in Cambodia
The Ministry of Health of Cambodia together with the World Health Organization (WHO) are investigating an unknown disease which caused 61 deaths in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
“The majority of cases were from the southern part of the country, and were hospitalized in a children's hospital in Phnom Penh,” WHO informs in a press release.
According to them, the symptoms are high fever and respiratory difficulties or neurologic problems. All 61 victims are 7-year-old kids and under, and died within 24 hours after the health issues have been reported.
The authorities do not know the source of the illness yet and they have already started an investigation. All the neighboring states have been officially informed about the outbreak.
