Two white slavers were arrested in Balti
The policemen from Balti used guns to arrest two men suspected of human traffic. The criminals were caught only after the police officers fired the guns, DECA-press Agency transmits.
The policemen had to fire two shots in the air in spite of the fact that the zone was full of people.
The two men, aged 28 and, respectively, 27, come from the town Rabnita, a locality from the left side of the Danube. One of them had been jailed for theft. The criminals caught the attention of the police after they had tried to recruit two young women from Balti who were supposed to be taken to Odessa and then trafficked to Turkey.
As the deputy commissar from Balti, Valeriu Starii, declared the policemen intercepted the fleshmongers’ „negotiations” with their victims and they tried to catch them in the act.
According to the same source, the criminals tried to run away. They were driving their car at high speed while being followed by the police. On their way they hit two cars, one of which is the property of the police department. The white slavers were caught only after the policemen fired two shots, Valeriu Starii explained.
The police do not exclude the possibility of those two being involved in other cases of human traffic.
The prosecution from Balti put the law on them. If they are found guilty they risk spending up to 20 years in jail.// DECA-Press
