Two earthquakes reported today in Romania
Chișinău / Moldova.ORG/ -- It seems that the world is devastated by earthquakes. After days of disaster and wreckage they have left in Sendai, Japan, earthquakes started to occur in Europe, more exactly in Romania.
This morning a 3,5 degrees magnitude earthquake was reported near Mehadia region, in Banat, Romania.
According to the website of the National Institute for Earth Physics, the quake happened at 11:13 am, at a depth of 4 km, it was brief and it is not yet known whether a reply is expected.
According to Ancuta Balint, the spokesman of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Caras-Severin, there weren’t reported any damages or losses.
Another earthquake occurred in Vrîncioaia, a region from Vrancea, only one minute later after the one from Banat. It’s magnitude was lower – 2,9 on the Richter scale, but at 141 km depth.
