TVR 1 Romanian TV channel to be re-broadcasted in Moldova by late 2007
The Romanian TV channel TVR 1 is to be re-broadcasted in Moldova by late 2007 through ICS TelefeM International SRL. So far, the Romanian TV Society (SRT) received no requests from other companies to re-broadcast the TV channel in Moldova, TVR says.
“In order not to interrupt the broadcasting of TVR 1 in Moldova by late 2007, SRT signed one-month contract with ICS TelefeM International SRL, which is not exclusive. We stress the fact that so far, the Romanian TV Society (SRT) received no requests from other companies to re-broadcast the TV channel in Moldova”, according to SRT communique. The contract with ICS TelefeM International SRL is one of the measures taken “to insure the Moldovan citizens the access to the TVR 1 programs at least by the moment all the disputes with CCA are solved”, the communique says.
On December 28, 2006, TVR signed the collaboration protocol with the Ministry of Informational Development (MDI) (the State enterprise Radiocomunicatii (Radio Communications) regarding the re-broadcasting of TVR 1 in Moldova, valid till June 13, 2007.
In late July 2007, the Ministry of Informational Development (MDI) requested the Audiovisual Coordinating Council of Moldova (CCA)to put to contest the frequencies of TVR pretending they “did not manage to sign a contract with the Romanian TV channel, and the old one expired on June 15, 2007”. At the 27 September meeting, CCA licensed TelefeM International Company for the second state network.
On November 20, CCA made amendments in the emission grid of TelefeM to broadcast the Romanian private channel Antena 1 on the second state network, on which TVR 1 was being re-broadcasted. Meanwhile, the Romanian TV Society that was licensed to broadcast TVR 1 channel till 2011, through the second state network, contested the decision of CCA in court. // BASA-Press
