Tiger Woods, the most popular and most successful golfer ever to walk on this planet, has been injured in a car accident earlier today and he was taken to the hospital in order to check if he has serious injuries.

The Tiger Woods car accident took place at 2:25AM ET while he was driving home in his 2009 Cadillac SUV. The professional golfer was alone in the car (without his wife Elin Nordegren).  He didn’t suffer major injuries, but he did suffer “facial lacerations.” Mark Steinberg, Tiger’s agent, said that the sportsman is in good condition and that he will feature at the Chevron World Challenge, Thousand Oaks, California, on December 3 where he will try to repeat the success from two weeks ago at the Australian Masters.

Although the officials of the Florida Highway Patrol have first announced that Tiger Woods had serious injuries, the car accident was dubbed as minor, and like aforementioned the golfer is feeling fine. The Police Patrol said that Woods was trying to pull out of his home’s driveway )his home is in the Isleworth subdivision near Orlando, Fla), but hit a hydrant and then a tree. The facial lacerations are the consequences of the fact that usually airbags do not go off if the car travels at speeds lower than 33mph. Police officials also said that the car accident didn’t happen due to DUI, but they’re still investigating.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the airbags in the SUV did not deploy, likely due to Woods driving less than 33 miles per hour.
