The Village That Guards the Country Border (VIDEO)
By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau / Moldova.ORG/ -- At the guarding of the border of Moldova stands throughout the centuries a little village of spiritual people, Nimereuca village, in Soroca County. Here the life flows smoothly within the years, as old Nistru River flows in its bed, near the village Nimereuca.
The village name is derived from the name of the pan Nemirca, whom these lands belonged to since the reign of Alexandru the Good, since 1431. Boyar Nemirca was the son-in-law of kneaz of Taul, which had four girls, of whom one was installed with her husband on the land at Nimereuca, Soroca fortress.
The first documentary record of the year we have on 24 March, 1624. Located on a coast of Dniester in the North-East of the Republic, Nimereuca is a center of locality and a village in Soroca. In its structure there are two villages: Nimereuca and Cerlina.
As s witness of the village oldness stands the old church of the village, which, according to the locals and church Vicar, would have more than 600 years. The church dedicated to the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" is a historical monument which was initially built of wood, and strengthened by the construction of stone.
The Church preserves until today an icon making of miracles of St. Gregory from the old wooden church.
On the territory of the village a long time ago there was a colony of Jews, called Liublin. As proof of this, not far from the old coterie "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" is Jewish cemetery with funeral stones of centuries old.
In addition to the remnants of the Nimereuca village's history, the commune can be proud and fascinating land of the Dniester River bank. The rocks that guard the carefree flow of the river, sleep silent and quiet to the admiration of audience.
In this landscape there arise certain rocks livelier and younger, as they want with all diligence to reach waters. Climbing up on one of those sparse cliffs, you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the Motherland.
The distance from Chisinau to Nimereuca is 113 km.
