The services of prostitutes from Balti are very cheap: from 70 to 100 lei
Women who provide sexual services on the by-pass road of Balti town have a moderate working agenda. Because of some security reasons, they usually „work” only before evening. Since most of them have children, they spend their nights at home, DECA-press informs.
According to Ruslan Chicimaniuc, chief of the Bureau for Minors and Manners of the Police Station from Balti, in the last few years, approximately 50 women are in the evidence of the police regarding the provision of sexual services. Only in 2007, 46 proces-verbals have been open for practicing prostitution. The women had been forced by the law court to pay fines of one thousand lei each.
One of the women put to trial for having practiced prostitution was punished 10 times last year, being obliged to pay 10 thousand lei of fines. Other two „colleagues” of hers were fined seven times. They had to pay per seven thousand lei.
Most women fined last year work usually at a cafe situation on the by-pass road of Balti town. There, prostitutes work on their own account, and they do not have anyone to protect them. More than half of them come from neighbouring districts, the rest are from Balti. The oldest prostitute, recorded by the police, is a 42-year-old woman, and the youngest one is 24. In front of the law court, they motivate their „profession” by the fact they need to take care of their children, the police lieutenant-mayor Ruslan Chicimaniuc also specified.
According to the words of several prostitutes, the tax for the sexual services provided at the edge of the Balti town varies from seventy to one hundred lei. This is due to the fact that most of their clients are men from rural localities and they have sexual relations in the clients' cars. |
