The Resort Amara

By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau / Moldova.ORG/ -- In attention of those who want to be packed with therapeutic mud all around, I propose the resort Amara. This zone is known for the presence of the lake Amara with mineral water and the mud rich also in minerals.

Located in Ialomita, at 7 km from the city Slobozia, it is often visited by the tourists in the season.
The first analyses of the lake water were made in 1887, and in 1896 the authorities decided to found a service of the baths.

The main attraction of the resort is the lake Amara with salty and mineral waters and which has a 4 km length and a width varying between 200 and 800 meters. The magnesium sulfates and sodium sulfates dissolved in large amounts in the water gives the lake a bitter taste that covers the salty one.

The sapropelic mud content in the lake is black, but in contact with air it becomes gray. It is greasy, salty and has a strong smell of hydrogen sulfide. The mud is composed of 41% of inorganic salts, 39% of organic matter and 20% of water. The thickness of the mud is 30-60 cm.

The resort also has several springs of mineral water, which is rich in sulfur, easy sulfate, with magnesium, bromine, bicarbonate and hypotonic.

In the resort are successful made the following types of procedures:
• Warm baths with mud, mud packing;
• Applications of cold mud poultices;
• Internal cures with mineral waters;
• Electrotherapy and hydrotherapy, aero heliotherapy

This resort is indicated for patients that suffer of musculoskeletal, post-traumatic, gynecologic, dermatological and endocrine disorders.

Amara Resort is a favorable settlement for those who want to combine a course of treatment and a session of bronze on the Black Sea littoral, which is near the resort.

It is always better to prevent diseases and to take care of our bodies, rather to be too late at a moment. Be healthy!

The distance from Chisinau to Amara Resort is 356 km.
