The Romanian deputy of the European Parliament from the part of PSD, Adrian Severin, former Romanian minister of Foreign Affairs, asserts, cited by the press from Romania, that European officials will not use the phrase „Moldovan language” anymore, DECA-press Agency informs.

Severin specified that the European Commission will not make a formal statement in this context, which pointed out the fact that social democrats insist on clarifying aspects connected with the problem of preserving Moldovan language in European documents.

The deputy reminded that he had addressed letters to the Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini, who was a negotiator of these international documents, asking him to send the copy in Romanian and Moldovan language of these treaties. „I didn't receive these variants. Yet, I've received the reply that it had been decided that from that moment, the phrase referring to Moldovan language would not be used in any of the documents of the European Union”, Adrian Severin specified, cited by the newspapers „Gardianul” and „Cotidianul”. // DECA-Press
