The Narrowest Street in Romania

Although the name of the street is only a symbolic one, Rope Street is today the location of lovers that want to feel close, very close to one another.

Firstly it was used as a gateway for firefighters; today it connects the Porta Schei and Deer's streets. Rope Street is documentary attested in the 17th century and reflects the trends of urbanization of medieval Brasov.

At the County Council initiative, the lane has been restored, marked and illuminated in 2003, to be included in the tourist circuit. There has been changed the pavement and were rebuilt the walls of buildings. The street regained its charm of yesteryear and thanks to street lamps it looks exactly like 100 years ago. There were ordered the lamps after the model of the existing at the Museum, the only difference being that today they no longer work with gas.

It is the narrowest Street in Eastern Europe and is the favorite place for couples to remain blocked. Arranged in the style of medieval streets, the street has retained the charm of the old lanes which attract tourists like a magnet.

Rope Street became a brand of Brasov, every visitor of the city is required, simply, to visit this objective. It's a little hard to find, because there are no indicators to this lane. In the labyrinth of streets of Brasov you can easily lose looking for that unique street of Romania.

Built in the 15th century after the model of medieval streets, from necessity, in the 21st century the street became a tourist attraction.

In addition to the little Rope Street, Brasov waits for tourists to open the mysteries of the numerous historical monuments that you can admire in this Transylvanian city.
