The Monastery from Frumusica Glade (VIDEO)
By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau/ Moldova.ORG/ -- A long time ago, in the dense forests of Calarasi there was a glade that differed from the others by its particularly landscape. Due to this features there has been selected a very suitable name - Frumusica (Beautiful).
This beautiful glade might be the right place for a great building as beautiful as the glade itself, and so there was founded the monastery Frumoasa (Beautiful), from Calarasi. After the establishment of the monastery, not far from it there was founded the village Frumoasa (Beautiful), according to prioress of the monastery.
The village Frumoasa is situated in the Centre of the Moldova, in forests of Calarasi. It is bounded by the villages Tibirica, Harbovat, Bravicea and Raciula. The first documentary attestation dates since 1807.
About the foundation of the village Frumoasa there is another legend that has as protagonist Stephen the Great, which tells about the followings: "it is said that once there went hunting near to the Frumoasa village, not far from Calarasi, the ruler Stephen the Great. And there lived in that time, in the forests of Frumoasa, some people. The ruler had asked the locals what is most valuable for them in this world. Locals answered that the humaneness has the best appreciated. The ruler blessed the wisdom of those who lived in the forest and went in his way". From this legend, it can be concluded that these territories were lived in times earlier, but the documents relating to a settlement of people here, we do not have.
Frumoasa Monastery was founded in 1804 by three monks that came from the monastery Neamt, from Romania.
Firstly the monastery was for monks of the monastery, but after the reopening, after the fall of communism, the monastery is a monastery is one of nuns.
Finally, the years of the foundation are less important when the front sits a architectural wonder that enjoyed both locals and visitors.
The monastery Frumoasa is the only monastery in Moldova which has a Museum in its interior, different icons and objects of worship of the old wooden church. The territory of the monastery there works also a school of painting and iconography, which is frequented by many children.
The monastery Frumoasa harmonizes with the beautiful places in which it was built, being the embodiment of the splendor, stillness and rest.
