The Castle from Gordineşti Destroyed by the Soviets (VIDEO)

By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau/ Moldova.ORG/ -- Gordineşti village, from Edinet, is apparently a village that does not draw attention to itself with anything. But coming on this land we find, once again, that doesn't know anything about that what surrounds us, about the Moldovan lands.

Gordineşti in addition to that it is village full of traditions kept scrupulously by locals, is also a land full of legends, landscapes and exceptional monuments.

Leaving the village we seek for the flow sometimes smooth, sometimes more agitated, of River Racovat. This "Master" digs for millennia in the cliffs and create tirelessly picturesque landscapes.

Racovat River's Gorge is a true miniature Canyon with sensational ups and hollows, and especially high terraces, where are opened the impressive views.

On one of the peaks of this Gorge was more time ago a Castle, but from which nothing has remained in our days. The ruins of the destroyed Castle are so insignificant that even locals often wonder if it was ever truly Castle.

The older man of the villagers minds how the imposing construction looked on the peaks above the River. During the Soviet occupation, this monument was destroyed without mercy and deleted from the history and the nation memory.
Today on this territory there is established a landscape reservation called "At the Castle", to protect what remained and the beautiful landscapes that couldn't destroy the invaders.

The existence of the castle is demonstrated by the well-known to each native legend, as the construction was a witness of two young people's love, who loved each other despite the various obstacles that they had, running both from all and everyone here, up to the Castle.

Perch here, up to the Castle and leave yourself overwhelmed by the beauty of places that once accompanied the two young people's pure love.
