The campaign of gathering signatures for the modification of Constitution has started in Chisinau, DECA-press Agency transmit.
The campaign has been initiated by the Liberal-Democratic Party (PLD) from Moldova, which opts for the election of president directly by citizens and elections of half of deputies in uninominal counties.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered a few days ago the group of initiative formed by PLD, which will deal with gathering signatures. The group is formed of over 1100 persons who will have time until June 23rd to gather at least 200 thousand signatures of citizens with the right to vote.
PLD hopes that, by the end of July, they will already file the lists of signatures checked by CEC at the Parliament as well as the favourable announcement of the Constitutional Court for the modification of the Constitution. If this happens, it is not excluded that the problem of modification of the Constitution could be discussed by the current Parliament.// DECA-Press
