The Bench of Friendship in Chisinau

The street art is developing in Chisinau. At the initiative of Papergirl group, the Bench of Friendship will be inaugurated in “Stefan cel Mare” Park on August 12th. Moreover, the organizers have announced that there will be a tree decorated with colored knitting behind the bench. “In a more urban vocabulary the art is called “grandmothers’ graffiti”, because it is colored and grandmothers are symbols of knitting”, said the organizers.

Alexandru Lebedev, one of the members of this group, stated that by this Papergirl group tries to prove that an idea may come out of comments on Facebook and bring some color to Chisinau. “If more ideas would come true, everything would change little by little. Because no matter how genial your ideas are, they should be implemented”, he says.

The organizers invite those who would like to attend the event on Sunday, beginning with 3 p.m. in “Stefan cel Mare” Park. They promise traditional biscuits, mini workshops, body art and other surprises.
